In co-operation with Schreiner ProSecure Schreiner ProTech has developed a product protection program for the British company Jemella Ltd., which is renowned for its professional “good hair days (ghd)” hair styling products. This enables customers to authenticate Jemella products on the Internet while simultaneously providing Jemella with the possibility of tracing its own products.

By using two highly secure hologram labels equipped with Schreiner ProSecure’s KeySecure Tracing System, the product and packaging can be authenticated without doubt. The technology used fits in well with the regular production process.

The labels on the inside of the Jemella hair straightener and the packaging are provided with anti-tamper protection. Both labels are printed with an individual alphanumeric code as well as easy-to-understand instructions for web-based authentication via a secure Internet address provided on Jemella’s website.

Practice has shown that product authentication can be performed by anyone – particularly the end consumer – across the whole distribution chain.
