Perfect Protection for Sensitive Electronics

The BMW Hydrogen 7 is the world’s first sedan powered by a hydrogen engine. As hydrogen is extremely volatile, special sensors have to indicate even minute leakage from the vehicle’s hydrogen fuel tank. For the sensors installed in the BMW Hydrogen 7, the Bavarian automaker relies on high-tech pressure compensation seals (PCS) by Schreiner ProTech.
The self-adhesive water- and oilrepelling pressure compensation seals are being successfully used in the model ranges of various automobile manufacturers. They save space, are suitable for fully automatic application in virtually any location, and have a high waterrepelling capacity while being highly permeable to air.
Compared to conventional PCS’s, this presents major benefits in terms of cost efficiency and process reliability - selling points that also convinced BMW regarding the Hydrogen 7 project.
